Mainstream School Applications (Primary and Secondary)

P1 and S1 August Intake

We will send information asking parent/carers to apply for a P1 place if their child attends a West Lothian Council nursery,  or is funded to attend a partner provider or childminder.

For S1 places we will send information to all parent/carers where their child attends a West Lothian Council primary school

We will also publish Information on the Council's website, social media channels and other communication platforms.

Where possible, parents/carers are asked to apply before 31 December as this allows us to check applications and request further information if we think it is required. The statutory deadline for applications is 15 March.

Applications received after15 March

Applications received after the deadline will be considered and processed after 30 April.

Decision Dates

No decisions for P1 and S1 applications will be issued before the closing date of 15 March.

The School Placement Panel will meet after that date and decisions will be issued as soon as possible, no later than the end of April.
